Commission Me
To commission work simply contact me via phone or e-mail.
I will follow up with you to discuss your needs, I will produce a working drawing, a materials list and costing sheet and work up a written estimate for the cost of producing the piece. During these discussions you are under no obligation whatsoever and need not pay me anything unless you accept my estimate and initiate a contract.

If you are local and request a bid I will provide you with two copies of the written estimate. To accept my offer, sign one copy and return it to me with the deposit on the estimated cost. The balance will be paid as the piece is completed. On-Line customers will receive an e-mail with the payment request. Payment of the deposit constitutes acceptance and initiates the contract.
I work hard to provide fair and accurate formal estimates. These are, however, estimates. The invoice for your piece will be generated from actual time and materials used. Estimated prices are good for 30 days from the estimate date. If not accepted within that time a new estimate may be required due to fluctuating prices of some lumber species.
Contract
Upon receipt of the signed estimate or on-line acceptance and payment of deposit I will place your project into my production schedule and purchase the needed materials. If needed, I will produce a detailed design drawing. Time spent producing a design drawing and/or searching out unusual parts may be billed to you. Time spent discussing your needs will not.
Your deposit covers the cost of lumber and materials needed to build your order and these items will be purchased upon receipt of your deposit to guard against price increases while you wait for your item to be built.
Production Schedule
I schedule work on a first come, first served basis keyed to contract acceptance date. Production times are estimated. This production time varies with our workload, increasing as new bids are accepted and decreasing as we complete the work already scheduled.
Cancellation
If for any reason you should decide to cancel your order prior to the start of construction, I will attempt to return the materials purchased and will refund your deposit, minus any non-recoverable expenses. Specially ordered lumber is not normally returnable, hardware and finishing supplies are as long as they were not custom ordered and have not been opened.
Non-returnable materials paid for out of the deposit belong to you and will be held for up to 30 days for your retrieval, or can be shipped to you at your expense.
Should you cancel your order after construction has begun, your entire deposit is forfeited.
Completion
When your item is completed your balance and shipping cost is due. I will make every effort possible to let you know that your piece is ready and waiting. If you are unable to make the final payment right away, let me know. I can place your piece of furniture in storage while you work things out. If I do not hear from you within 30 days of the completion date I must assume you've changed your mind and cancel the order. You will forfeit the deposit and the piece will be sold to collect the balance due.
